All applications for a Post.Trust I.D.® unique digital credential are subject to an identity verification process. If you require a Post.Trust I.D.® credential that offers the highest level of assurance to your customers, you must present yourself in person together with documentary evidence of your identity to a Post.Trust representative. Once verified, you will be issued with a Post.Trust I.D.® 'Qualified' credential. Where it is not feasible to conduct a face-to-face meeting, a Post.Trust I.D.® 'Standard' credential can be issued. Both 'Standard' and 'Qualified' offer the same level of Adobe® PDF security within the Adobe Certified Document Services (CDS) program.
Post.Trust can also offer customised certificate registration processes to meet the specific needs of each customer. Where a number of members within an organisation are to be assigned a digital credential, Post.Trust can appoint a Customer Registration Agent (CRA) within the organisation whose duty it is to perform the identification process. These agents then forward copies of the proof of identity documents to Post.Trust for verification.
Documentary evidence of identity
The following documentation is required in your application for a Post.Trust I.D.® credential:
- Original Passport or Driving License
- A ‘Good Quality’ Photocopy of the same piece of identification (Passport or Driving License)
- Letter of Authorisation
- Registration Form to be completed by each applicant

Letter of Authorisation
A letter of authorisation MUST be provided, signed by a senior official on behalf of your organisation on company headed paper, sanctioning you to receive a Post.Trust Certificate for Adobe® CDS. The letter of authorisation should include the registered company name and company number.
Face-to-face meeting
Following an application for a Post.Trust I.D.® credential, either through the ‘Register Your Interest’ form, 'Request a Call back’ form or via phone (Republic of Ireland 1890 617 171, outside of Ireland +35317057000 "Post.Trust Support") a Post.Trust representative will contact you regarding your application. At the meeting, the Post.Trust representative will check that you have presented and signed all of the necessary documentation. The documentation is then countersigned and returned to Post.Trust for processing.
